Palace maids in the olden days lead wretched, lonely lives but are often resolved to their fates. The Autumn Moon in the Han Palace is a traditional tune that expresses the sentiments of these ladies who dedicated their entire lives to servitude. This gaohu solo was rearranged in 1984 by Li Zhuxin for the inaugural Guangdong Music Competition. He clinched the top award for “Best Rearrangement” with it.

《汉宫秋月》原为古曲，表达古代宫女哀怨悲愁的情绪及一种无可奈何、寂廖清冷的生命意境。李助炘创编的高胡独奏作品《汉宫秋月》写于1984年，曾获首届中国广东音乐邀请赛优秀改编奖第一名。
