I love the moment of stillness and gentle melancholy this song provides in among all the bigger songs and scenes. This is actually my favourite song from the musical.

I stayed awake til midnight last night to listen to the soundtrack and I love it! Which song should we cover next? Would you also like some solo piano versions? Let me know in the comments. The film does not start here in Germany until December 12 ... I can't wait to see it. I saw the musical years ago in San Francisco and LOVED every second of it.

I noticed that Cynthia Erivo sings this a half tone higher than the original Idina Menzel (or was it Adele Dazeem?) version. I transposed it a little higher again into C major just so that the lowest note of the violin can be the lowest note of the song... so that that rich open G can ring out.

I'm so grateful to my friend Clara Tietz for always playing with such heartbreaking tenderness!
